This initiative was founded more than 30 years ago by biologist Neiva Guedes with the goal of studying and monitoring the nests of the Hyacinth Macaw, ensuring their preservation. Thanks to their efforts and Caiman’s support, the specie’s conservation status moved back from threatened to vulnerable.

Since 1997 this initiative, helmed by Glaucia Seixas, studies, collects and publishes information about the Blue-fronted amazon parrot, one of the species most threatened by illegal trade.
